Which one should you use, the Regular or Ultra?

The Ancient Minerals® Magnesium Lotion ORIGINAL (formula) contains a higher level of magnesium than the Ultra but only 40% of magnesium compared to the magnesium oil original formula.

The Ancient Minerals® Magnesium Lotion ULTRA (formula) has a lower concentration of magnesium but contains the addition of MSM, an organic sulfur compound from OptiMSM®. When applied topically, MSM enhances tissue permeability and may facilitate a more efficient update of magnesium ions. This is ideal for muscle recovery (i.e. athletes), joint pain relief, and support (i.e. arthritic, and chronic sufferers, osteoporosis, etc.).

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use the same way as a moisturizer. Rub (1 ml) one full pump of lotion thoroughly into clean skin.

For optimal health benefits, apply liberally to larger areas of skin such as your torso, legs, and arms, to help maximize absorption.

Avoid sensitive areas and mucus membranes.

You may use it once or as often as needed; any time of the day.

For First Time Use of a new bottle: You have to pump a few times before the lotion dispenses for the first time.

FAQ

How is this different than Epsom salts?

Ancient Minerals® Magnesium Lotion Ultra is made from magnesium chloride. Epsom salts are magnesium sulfate.

Although both contain a form of magnesium, magnesium chloride is much better suited for topical application. Magnesium chloride is the best choice because of its clinical and pharmacological effects, and its lower tissue toxicity as compared to magnesium sulfate.

Magnesium chloride is more easily assimilated, and therefore more bioavailable or absorbed and utilized by the body. Whereas magnesium sulfate is not as easily absorbed and utilized in the body.
