Which one should you use, the Regular flakes or Ultra?

The REGULAR Ancient Minerals® Magnesium Bath Flakes pack contains a higher level of magnesium for different health issues.

The ULTRA Ancient Minerals® Magnesium Bath Flakes pack has a lower concentration of magnesium but contains the addition of MSM, an organic sulfur compound from OptiMSM®. When applied topically, MSM enhances tissue permeability and may facilitate a more efficient update of magnesium ions. This is ideal for muscle recovery (i.e. athletes, arthritic, etc.), and joint pain relief and support.

What is the difference between a full-body bath immersion and a foot bath?

The full-body bath immersion offers the most benefit from magnesium transdermal therapy (skin application). Totally relaxing for the whole body.

The foot soak is a convenient way to relax and detoxify if you want a quick and easy way to apply magnesium.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

For Young Children - Use 1/2 cup to 1 cup in a small bath.

For Adults - 

Dissolve 1-3 cups of magnesium flakes into a warm foot bath or full tub bath and soak for 30 minutes or more.

Dissolve up to 8 lbs of magnesium flakes in a full tub bath for intense applications.

The temperature of the water should be warm (about 101-1030F or 390C), but not hot. Hot water causes the skin to eliminate rather than absorb.
 
Following the bath, rinse skin with cool running water, then pat skin dry with a towel and apply a natural moisturizer.

How often should I take a magnesium bath?

You can take an Ancient Minerals magnesium bath as often as you'd like.

How much magnesium do I absorb per cup?

You can absorb 15 g elemental magnesium per cup.

FAQ

How is this different than Epsom salts?

Magnesium bath flakes are made from magnesium chloride. Epsom salts are magnesium sulfate.

Although both contain a form of magnesium, magnesium chloride is much better suited for topical application. Magnesium chloride is the best choice because of its clinical and pharmacological effects, and its lower tissue toxicity as compared to magnesium sulfate.

Magnesium chloride is more easily assimilated, and therefore more bioavailable or absorbed and utilized by the body. Whereas magnesium sulfate is not as easily absorbed and utilized in the body.
